Last week we received an emergency phone call from the family of our Dreamer Bryan. Bryan had taken a turn for the worse and had been admitted to the Palliative Care Unit in Young, NSW. His Dream was to have his brother Scott by his side. A simple request except Scott lives 13,000 kms away in Albuquerque, Texas, USA. Dream Maker Annabel was immediately on the job with the wonderful Alison from Anywhere Travel. They worked over the weekend to coordinate Scott’s journey. It involved a massive flight from Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Brisbane, Canberra and then by road to Young. Despite a delayed flight from Brisbane, Scott made it to Bryan’s bedside. The beautiful photos of the moment the brothers reunite make it all worth while. It is such a privilege to witness this beautiful Dream coming true.
Here is an update from Bryan’s family:
“Bryan made it home today, even if for only a little while. Having his brother by his side has really boosted his will to fight and his determination to be able to get back home to share some quality time with his loved ones (and of course his cat. tehe). Having Scott here has meant that Bryan was able to be home with the support needed, as mum would not have been able to cope with this alone due to Bryan’s immobility.
He had all but given up prior to Scott’s arrival, and understandably with the pain he was enduring. This is all thanks to you and the wonderful charity Dreams2live4, and Anytime Travel for making Scott’s visit possible. Although we would have done everything possible to get Scott here, Mum would not have been able to help fund his stay here if she wasn’t helped by your charity to cover the cost of his flight. We now also realise how lucky we are to live in a great country.
Thank you again and for being so understanding and compassionate to Bryan’s dream.”
