“I’m still a little overwhelmed that this is going to happen. It has made me so happy to see how excited my family after all they have been through in recent months,” he says.
Earlier this year, Mark was on his way to Victoria to catch up with friends. Taking a turn for the worst, “I drove straight to Sutherland Emergency and by the end of the day I had received the news,” Mark writes.
It was terminal lung cancer. At 58 years old and with no prior medical history, the news rocked Mark and his family.
“My 3 children dropped everything to be by my side where they haven’t left since.”
“Through every painful medical procedure, at least one of them was always with me and if not, they were banding together to make my humble little granny flat as pleasant and liveable as possible for when I could finally go home.”
“I wish more than anything to have a wonderful night away with my kids where no one has to do anything except have a good time together.”
