When our dreamer, Anesha, was a child she recalls sitting at the breakfast table and reading the paper aloud in the voices of her favourite news anchors. Thanks to Peter Overton and Channel 9, her dream came true.
“After going through numerous surgeries, hospital stays, treatments and side effects, I thought I would never see this day. I was overwhelmed as I read my name out loud to close the news. With tears in my eyes, I looked to Peter who, too, was tearing up,” Anesha writes.
“It was the most exhilarating, nerve wrecking and exciting experience of my life. This was the moment I had been waiting for, for over 30 years”.
Just when she thought there could be no more surprises, Peter took her for a sunset helicopter ride over the coastline.
“I wished the day would never end. This dream has given me so much hope. It has taught me not to give up the fight even when things get rough,” she says.
“Mostly, I want to thank my dream-maker Louise . We met at the hospital several months ago where I was a patient. I was very ill & in a lot of pain. From that moment we met , Louise did everything she could to make my dream come true. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
A huge thank you to our loyal supporters from 9 News and to our wonderful Dream-Maker Louise for making Anesha’s dream come true.
