When our dreamer Sally received her diagnosis in 2014, her “whole world caved in.” Especially when she had to stop her passion of teaching.
Sally’s dream was to chase the ‘creative ambience’ of Melbourne with her best friend Jo, who has been by her side since their days teaching at Inala West State School.
“Art has kept me happy, even after the trails of chemotherapy.”
“It was so enjoyable to be well enough to visit art exhibitions, ride trams, go for long walks, look at murals in various laneways where quaint café’s frequent,” she says.
To top it off, Sally and Jo stayed the luxurious- Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
“I shared wonderful breakfasts with Jo overlooking the gorgeous Melbourne skyline. My brothers friend, David, who works with the Sofitel made my stay beautiful with divine champagne fancy chocolates and beautiful flowers when I first arrived at the hotel.”
“Dealing with day to day living expenses, medical bills and financial hardship” has meant that a luxury like this was out of reach for our dreamer.
“After staying in The Sofitel I stayed with my brother, his wife and my beautiful niece and nephew. Seeing my nephew perform in his school play at Wesley was truly wonderful. I then travelled up to stay with my aunt on her sheep farm where I grew up.”
“With both of my parents dying before the age of 18, my aunt raised me. It was so great to have some home cooked crusty wholemeal bread along with my aunts superb cooking. Staying with her was such a precious time for me,” Sally writes.
“A huge thankyou to Dreams2Live4, for the ever so special opportunity I have been given to pamper myself while I am able.”
