Home for the Holiday

After months of treatment and confined to the hospice, 36 year old Joshua had one dream – to go home to his Mum and Dads at Empire Bay. But to do this would require specialised home care. Dream Maker Annabel worked with Joshua and his Mum to organise the help they needed so that Joshua could enjoy a holiday at home. Joshua’s social worker reported the change in Joshua had been remarkable. “Empire Bay has done him wonders, he has been getting to the beach in his wheelchair and to the local café. He has also been having lots of visitors who are able to stay in Empire Bay. There is no doubt the transition would not have been as smooth if they had not had the private care funded by Dreams2live4. Having the carers there gave him and his mum confidence and has helped them become familiar with the new routine of care. All your efforts were much appreciated, his dream really has come true.” – Grace

Joshua’s Dream to visit his Mum and Dad came true because of the generosity of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney who fund the in-house Dreams2Live4 program across the St Vincents Campus in Darlinghurst.
