Our Community Hero, Sam, has smashed his $5000 fundraising goal!
There’s 1 month to go until our Community Hero, Sam Collins, will be running for Dreams in honour of his friend and nursing colleague, Michelle Murray who has sadly had a relapse of breast cancer.
“I wouldn’t do this for just anyone- she’s a pretty special lady and honestly one of the most caring nurses I’ve ever worked with,” Sam writes.
His first Ultra Marathon is a 50km race in the Blue Mountains at the Ultra Trail Australia (UTA) running festival and the community has rallied to support him.
“It has been an awesome response so far – I have just changed to goal to $10 000. It never occurred to us that we would meet the target in the first week!” Sam writes.
“Michelle and I are both so humbled by people’s generosity so far. It has been so amazing for Michelle to see all of this support and to have so many people leaving kind words and messages with their donation. Anyone who has worked with Michelle knows just how caring she is and how compassionately she looks after her patients. She is a role model for us all,” Sam writes.
We are so excited to have Sam fundraising for Dreams2Live4 as one of our Community Heroes! Show your support by donating to https://give.everydayhero.com/au/running-for-dreams
